TV, Film & Radio

Dear journalists, camera crews, directors, editors, presenters, technicians, production managers and dispatchers, many of your colleagues, including costume designers, makeup artists, props experts, actors, casting directors, film and video editors and sound engineers are already working in approximately 1,800 film companies, 30 radio stations and over 2,000 TV companies in Berlin-Brandenburg.

More than 300 films per year are produced at Babelsberg Film Studio, Studio Berlin Adlershof, in the Berliner Union-Film studios, Park Studios and other attractive film locations in the capital. The excellent infrastructure in the fields of television, film and web offers the best conditions for production and partnerships in Berlin-Brandenburg. Jobs in companies can be found in the areas of technology, (post) production, production design, special effects, costume, billing and casting, among others. Even sales staff, IT professionals, lawyers, HR and office managers have excellent job opportunities in this industry.

The change in the audiovisual media market towards more video-on-demand, web TV, video platforms and multichannel networks have enticed new successful companies like MCNs Collective Studio71, Divimove, the YouTube Space, UFA Lab and the 301+ Berlin YouTube collective to settle in Berlin. These companies are potential employers just as much as broadcasting companies such as RBB, N24 as well as the capital city studios of ARD, ZDF and RTL. This is also true for the radio stations such as Jam FM, Berliner Rundfunk 91.4, Energy Berlin, Fritz, 105'5 Spree Radio and 98.8 Kiss FM based here.

Salaries are always based on your experience and the respective companies. In many TV and film productions companies, the collective salary standards apply – film and television professionals’ salaries are calculated based on a weekly salary table. This means that an assistant director, for example, earns 1,301 euros per week, a costume designer 1,058 euros and a camera operator (not a lights specialist) 2,755 euros per week. Your negotiation skills are required for salaries which are not part of a collective bargaining agreement. Start your job search! It’s worth it.
